According to Aaron Wilsonthe commanders are working on veteran WR Damiere Byrd in addition to training WR Martavis Bryant.

Byrd, 31, signed with the Panthers in 2015 as an undrafted free agent out of South Carolina. He moved on and off their active roster until signing a one-year deal with the Cardinals in March 2019.

He signed a one-year contract with the Patriots for 2020 and signed another one-year contract with the Bears in 2021. From there, Byrd joined the Falcons on a one-year contract for the 2022 season before joining this offseason the Panthers got to work. .

Carolina placed Byrd on injured reserve and he was later released with a plea deal before moving on with Atlanta. Byrd had a brief stint on the Texans’ practice squad after his time with the Falcons.

In 2023, Byrd played in one game for the Falcons.
