People are going to work by bike this week

When I start talking about cycling, I like to preface it with the comment that I haven’t been on a bicycle in years. I can’t remember the last time I went cycling.

Like Pickle Ball, I’m starting to feel like I’m behind on the activities all my friends are doing. I have good friends who now cycle every weekend. It makes me want to drag the ten-speed down and join them. Pickle Ball, I can wait for that game, I would most likely get hurt.

May is National Cycling Month

Cycling through the Hudosn Valley has become a lot easier now that we have so many trails leading from town to town. Not to mention that the Empire State Trail cuts right through the heart of our community. You can really go almost anywhere.

May is National Cycling Month and is actively promoted by the League of American Bicyclists. Cycling Month dates back to 1956. During National Cycling Month we have many more cycling-inspired festivities, including a day where you can cycle to work.

The right bike to work. Why not cycle to work, just like you cycled to school? I wish I could cycle to work. I can only imagine what shape I would be in. The truth is, many of us would benefit from cycling to work, but the commute is just too long. Commuting in the Hufodn Valley takes on average about 33 minutes by car.
